You may have noticed that I’ve been taking a sabbatical from blogging for the last several weeks. I’m back now.
The primary reason why I’ve been away from blogging is because I’ve been suffering from depression-like symptoms for the past several months. While I’m awaiting an opening in psychiatry services in my area, I have been prescribed citalopram, the generic form of Celexa, to treat my depression-like symptoms, which I am required to take a single dose of daily.
Another reason why I’ve been away from blogging is because my mother has been ill for the last few months. From January 4 to February 14, my mother spent all but five hours of that time frame in either a hospital or a rehabilitation facility. My mother had a malignant tumor on her colon and severe inflammation of her colon, which required colostomy surgery that was performed on January 7. While my mother is home now, she still has an open surgical wound and uses a colostomy bag, both of which regular home health care services. My mother uses a four-wheeled walker, also called a rollator, as a mobility aid, although, even with the rollator, she has trouble walking long distances. On March 5, my mother was in the emergency room again for a few hours and received treatment for blood clots in at least one of her legs before being released from the emergency room. My mother has to be very careful doing even basic tasks, as she has an open surgical wound and is taking a blood thinner.
I am slowly beginning to get my life back on track, and part of that includes returning to writing blog posts from time to time. However, my mother owes a lot of money in medical bills, my household had to spend several hundred dollars to replace the range at my house due to a gas leak earlier this month, and I’m not currently able to buy things that I would love to have. If you wish to purchase gifts for me, you can view my Amazon wish list here and buy one or more items on my wish list for me.
